COVID
“IMPORTANT 4/18/2023 FDA Update
Updated/Bivalent Moderna and Pfizer will be used for primary and booster COVID-19 vaccines going forward, for everyone 6mo. and older.
As of 4/18/2023, original, Monovalent Moderna and Pfizer doses are no longer authorized for use.
The CDC will be meeting 4/19/2023 to approve new standing orders. Once those are approved, GCACC clinics will be able to administer the bivalent vaccine to newly approved persons.
Anyone 6mo+ who is currently eligible for a bivalent booster, but has yet to get one, may get one at our clinics now.
Those who may become eligible for an additional bivalent booster, will be able to get one once we have CDC approval and new standing orders.
If you are a parent of a 6mo-5yr old who has yet to have your child get a primary series of covid vaccine, or has only had one dose of primary series, please wait to make your next appointment until we have new standing orders to administer the bivalent vaccine as your child's primary series doses.
For unvaccinated persons 5 yrs of age and older, please wait to get your primary vaccine until the new orders have been approved by the CDC and standing orders have been written.
