Extreme Cold Weather – Be Prepared
Call Mass211, by dialing 2-1-1, or check with your local Emergency Management Office to find the locations of any Warming Centers that may be open in your area.
Be aware of the timing of cold weather by monitoring media reports. Have a winter emergency supply kit with flashlights, batteries, first aid, water, nonperishable food and blankets. Minimize outside activity. Dress in layers. Ensure you have sufficient heating fuel. Take precautions if using an alternate heating source. If you have symptoms of frostbite or hypothermia seek medical help immediately.
