We are located at 38 Maple Street / Route 62. We are about a quarter mile from downtown Middleton on the left heading toward Danvers. The building is white with green/grey trim and black double doors. There is a sign near the sidewalk and a large American Flag flying.
Parking & Accessibility
Our parking is extremely limited and we ask that you use the services of our van whenever possible. The main entrance is on the left side of the building. Once inside, we have ramps, an elevator and stairs to the main level. We offer programming on both levels and off-site as well.
Our Historic Building
Our site, also
known as Old Town Hall, has an interesting history and has been used for
many purposes since it was built in 1848.
The Senior Center
has been in this building for over the past 21 years. During part of
this time the building was home to the Tri-Town Council, the Recreation
Commission (still in residence). The building was closed for years, but
prior to that, it housed various town offices over the decades.
Its former incarnations have been as a grange hall, community center,
and as a church. It is so interesting to listen to residents in their
70s and 80s talk about the wonderful holiday pageants, the ballroom
dancing lessons, the movies and the theatrical performances held in this
elegant old building. There are also interesting records and
recollections of animated town meetings. Some of the artifacts and
documents regarding this building can be viewed in the town archives.
