The Town of Middleton is in the process of certifying an environmental review for a new project at Essex Tech. Essex Tech is constructing a small 225 square foot building and paving an existing access road. The project will establish a location on campus for the non-profit Companies2Heroes, a unique service dog training program specializing in guided/assisted self-training of services dogs working with combat veterans experiencing lasting trauma.
This project is being funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and is being managed by Essex Tech. The Town of Middleton did not participate in the project conception, planning, or funding for this project. The Town's only role in this project is to oversee the environmental review process, ensuring that all requirements are met, as the project location is on Essex Tech property within Middleton Town limits.
The environmental review has been completed and the findings show that the project will have no significant impacts to environmental health.
